Who we are
Sam Soyombo Career Pathways Ltd is the organisation responsible for deciding how personal data collected through SamSoyombo.com is used. The website is the public gateway to the SCP Reflective Intelligence ecosystem, including HumanRI, SCOPE, Reflective Africa, pathways and links to RILayer.
Privacy questions and information-rights requests should be sent to [email protected] or through the Contact page.
Scope of this notice
This notice covers personal data collected through SamSoyombo.com, its direct public forms, correspondence sent to SCP Ltd using the contact details published on this website and authorised moderation records created by SCP for an SCP-managed community concern.
RILayer deployments, organisational pilots, research projects and commissioned programmes may require additional project-specific privacy information, contractual controls or data-processing arrangements. External services linked or embedded on this website also operate under their own privacy notices.
Read this notice alongside the SCP Ecosystem Disclaimer and Service Boundaries, the Governance and Trust summary and, where relevant, the SASSY Community Guidelines.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you interact with the website or an SCP-managed community route, SCP Ltd may receive:
- Enquiry information: name, email address, organisation, country or location, selected enquiry topic and the message you choose to submit.
- Partnership context: work email, organisation, role, partnership area, problem description and the outcome you hope to support.
- Correspondence: information contained in emails, attachments or follow-up communications.
- Community and moderation information: a Telegram display name or username, a message or screenshot voluntarily shared with a moderator, the nature of a reported concern and a proportionate record of action taken where needed for safety, governance or accountability.
- Technical and security information: IP address, browser or device details, date and time, requested pages, server events and information used to prevent spam, abuse or security incidents.
- Scheduling or external-tool information: information you choose to provide directly to a third-party scheduling, community or interactive service.
Do not submit passwords, payment details, confidential employer or public-sector information, medical records, identifiable case files or unnecessary sensitive personal data through public forms or community conversations.
How and why we use personal data
Respond to an enquiry
To review a message, provide an appropriate response, redirect it to a more suitable SCP route or take steps requested before a possible service or agreement.
Typical basis: legitimate interests and, where relevant, steps before entering a contract.
Assess partnership fit
To review purpose, readiness, governance, conflicts, safeguarding and whether a bounded conversation or pilot should proceed.
Typical basis: legitimate interests and pre-contract steps.
Moderate an SCP community
To respond to reports, enforce published participation boundaries, protect members and maintain a proportionate accountability record where a serious or repeated concern arises.
Typical basis: legitimate interests, safeguarding responsibilities and legal obligations where applicable.
Operate and protect the website
To deliver pages, maintain service reliability, diagnose faults, prevent spam, enforce rate limits and investigate security concerns.
Typical basis: legitimate interests and legal obligations where applicable.
Meet legal and governance duties
To manage complaints, rights requests, records, disputes, safeguarding concerns, intellectual-property issues or lawful requests from an authority.
Typical basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
SCP Ltd does not add a person to a marketing list merely because they submitted an enquiry or joined an external community platform. Where consent is relied upon for an optional activity, it may be withdrawn by contacting SCP Ltd.
Enquiries and forms
The Contact and Partner forms send the information entered to SCP Ltd’s official administration mailbox. Required fields are limited to what is needed to understand and respond to the selected route. Anti-spam and rate-limiting controls may process technical information associated with a submission.
Submitting a form does not create a client relationship, partnership, entitlement to a service or authorisation to use SCP intellectual property. A successful confirmation means the website accepted the submission; it does not guarantee immediate email delivery or a particular response.
Comments and public discussion
Where commenting is enabled on an article, SCP Ltd asks for a display name, email address and the comment you choose to submit. Technical information may also be processed to limit spam or abuse. New comments are held for moderation before publication.
If a comment is approved, the display name, comment text and publication date may appear publicly with the relevant article. Email addresses, IP addresses and moderation data are not displayed publicly. Historical approved comments from the former WordPress site may be preserved with their original public display name, date and reply relationship where those records are available.
Comments should not contain passwords, payment information, medical records, confidential case information, private contact details or unnecessary information about another person. SCP Ltd may reject, remove or retain moderation records where reasonably necessary to protect the discussion, investigate abuse or meet legal and governance obligations.
Open public commenting is not provided on dedicated child-facing pathway pages. See the children and young people section below for the wider safeguarding boundary.
SCOPE, AI-supported and third-party tools
SCOPE is a Discover-stage reflective resource, not an authorised decision-making, clinical, recruitment or diagnostic system. AI-supported content within the SCP ecosystem must remain subject to human judgement and the boundaries described in the ecosystem disclaimer.
SCP Ltd does not use information submitted through the public Contact or Partner forms to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Some pages link to or use optional third-party services. Calendly may be used for scheduling, involve.me may deliver interactive resources and Telegram currently hosts the SASSY Community conversation. Information entered directly into those services is handled under their own terms and privacy notices.
Joining the Telegram group does not create an SCP website account. Telegram controls its account system and technical processing. SCP moderators may see information made visible in the group and may retain a limited moderation record where needed to address a safety, conduct or governance concern. Review the Telegram Privacy Policy, Calendly Privacy Notice or involve.me Privacy Policy before submitting personal information to the relevant service.
Cookies and technical information
The current first-party SamSoyombo.com website does not deploy an advertising network or behavioural-advertising cookie. Essential hosting, security or service-delivery technologies may still process technical information required to provide and protect the website.
When you choose to open an external scheduling, media, community or interactive service, that provider may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies under its own privacy and cookie controls. Browser and app settings can also be used to restrict or delete stored data.
Sharing and international processing
Personal data may be shared only where necessary with:
- website hosting, email, security, technical-support and administration providers;
- professional advisers, reviewers, moderators or contractors who require access for an authorised purpose and are subject to appropriate duties;
- external services you actively choose to use;
- regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety; or
- a successor organisation if a lawful restructuring or transfer occurs with appropriate safeguards.
SCP Ltd does not sell personal data. Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where SCP Ltd controls such a transfer, it will consider the available lawful transfer mechanism and proportionate safeguards. External services remain responsible for explaining their own processing.
How long information is retained
Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected and any related accountability, contractual, legal, security or dispute-resolution requirement.
- General enquiries are reviewed after resolution and removed when further follow-up or accountability is no longer reasonably required.
- Partnership, pilot and organisational records may be retained while fit is assessed, while work is active and afterwards where required for contractual, evidence, accounting, intellectual-property or legal purposes.
- Community moderation records should be limited to what is needed to explain and manage the concern, and reviewed when the safety, conduct, legal or accountability purpose no longer requires them.
- Technical and security records are normally retained for a limited operational period, but relevant records may be kept longer when investigating abuse, an incident or a legal concern.
- Records of privacy requests or complaints may be retained to demonstrate how the matter was handled.
Retention is reviewed proportionately; information that is no longer needed should be deleted, anonymised or securely archived with restricted access.
Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis used, you may have rights to be informed, access your personal data, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, request erasure, restrict processing, receive portable data, object to processing and withdraw consent.
To exercise a right, email [email protected] with enough information to identify the relevant interaction. SCP Ltd may need to verify identity and clarify the request before releasing or changing information. Rights are not absolute and lawful exemptions may apply.
Children and young people
Some SCP resources are designed for young people, parents, educators or youth-transition settings. Public website forms and external community conversations are not designed for children to submit confidential case information or sensitive personal data.
Participation in an external platform must comply with that platform's current age requirements and any relevant parent, guardian, school, service or safeguarding arrangements. The SASSY Telegram group is not a confidential youth-support or emergency service. Read the young-people and safeguarding boundary before participating.
Where SCP Ltd works with children or young people through an organisation, school, community setting, research activity or controlled programme, separate safeguarding, consent, information-sharing and privacy arrangements may apply. The responsible organisation and authorised adults should ensure that only necessary information is shared through the approved channel.
Security and data minimisation
SCP Ltd uses proportionate organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Access should be limited to people who require the information for an authorised purpose.
No internet service, messaging platform or email system can guarantee absolute security. Visitors and community members can reduce risk by sharing only what the stated purpose requires, reviewing platform privacy settings and avoiding sensitive or restricted information in public forms or group conversations.
Questions, rights requests and complaints
Raise a privacy question or complaint first with SCP Ltd through [email protected] or the Contact page. Explain what happened, the information involved and the outcome you are seeking without unnecessarily repeating sensitive material.
You may also complain to the United Kingdom’s independent data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO complaint service for current guidance and contact routes.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when website functions, community arrangements, service providers, legal requirements or SCP processing activities change. The review date at the top of the page will be updated when a material revision is published.
A material change does not retrospectively authorise a new use of personal data where another lawful basis, notice or consent is required.
