SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd is an independent private limited company registered in Scotland.

SCP maintains older free self-help and informational resources on SamSoyombo.com. Its current active-project and commercial position is set out below.

What We Provide — and What We Do Not

SCP maintains free public informational and self-help resources and develops RILayer within defined professional, legal and operating boundaries.

Any paid or commissioned activity is limited to the current company position and geographic safeguards set out below.

SCP resources and tools are not substitutes for professional medical, psychological, legal, immigration, financial or safeguarding advice.

They do not provide clinical diagnoses, statutory decisions, recruitment decisions or emergency support.

Where specialist advice, formal assessment or professional intervention is required, users should consult an appropriately qualified or authorised professional.

Employment, Independence and Scotland Boundary

Sam Soyombo is employed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS). SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd is a separate and independently operated company.

Because the company’s work relates to careers and decision-making, Sam recognises that there could be a potential or perceived conflict of interest and has put safeguards in place.

The company does not currently undertake commercial service delivery or pilot activity in Scotland.

Any proposed future engagement involving Scotland-based organisations that could create an actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest would be reviewed before proceeding. Appropriate safeguards would be applied and, where required, the relevant SDS declaration process followed, including prior discussion with Sam’s line manager.

All company work takes place outside SDS working hours.

Sam will not use SDS equipment, systems, data, confidential information, customer information, contacts, branding or his SDS position for the company’s benefit.

Sam will not promote SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd, RILayer or MaxME to SDS customers, partners or stakeholders through his SDS role.

Sam’s SDS responsibilities take priority.

If the nature, geography, working hours or commercial status of an activity changes in a way that affects these safeguards, the position will be reviewed before proceeding and the appropriate SDS declaration process followed, including prior discussion with Sam’s line manager where required.

Independence and Non-Endorsement

SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd is independent of Skills Development Scotland.

Nothing on this website should be interpreted as indicating that Skills Development Scotland has approved, commissioned or endorsed SCP, RILayer, MaxME or the safeguards described on this page unless explicitly confirmed otherwise.

Current Company Position

RILayer is the sole active project of SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd.

RILayer is currently a proof of concept supporting accountable human decision-making where AI is involved, with planned pilot activity outside Scotland in the West Midlands.

From late 2026, the company intends to explore paid governance reviews and pilot engagements with organisations outside Scotland.

At the date of this update, RILayer does not have paying customers and does not generate revenue.

An earlier concept, MaxME, is paused and is not operating.

Some older free informational and self-help resources remain available on SamSoyombo.com. These are not active company projects or commissioned services.

Public Resources, Young People and Wellbeing

Older free self-help and informational resources remain available for learning, information and reflection.

They are older free public resources, not active SCP projects, and are not currently being developed, marketed or offered as commissioned services.

Using a public resource does not by itself establish a professional advisory, coaching or client relationship.

Some of these resources may be used by children or young people. They must be used in an age-appropriate way and in accordance with any safeguarding, consent or adult-involvement requirements stated for that particular resource.

Our resources are non-clinical. Anyone facing an emergency, immediate risk or serious wellbeing concern should contact the appropriate emergency, health, safeguarding or other qualified service.

AI-Supported Tools and Human Judgement

AI-supported output is not an authorised decision.

Some SCP resources use artificial intelligence to organise information, identify possible patterns, support reflection or suggest options.

Significant personal, employment, safeguarding, legal or organisational decisions should not be made solely from automated output.

SCOPE, for example, is a self-reflection resource. It is not a diagnostic, clinical, recruitment or decision-making tool.

Human judgement, appropriate professional responsibility and applicable governance remain essential.

Accuracy, External Sources and Outcomes

We aim to provide useful and current information, but important information should be independently checked before significant decisions are made.

Career pathways, laws, immigration rules, funding arrangements, labour markets, technology and external services can change.

Users should verify important or time-sensitive information with an appropriate official, authoritative or qualified source.

Participation in an SCP programme, pilot or activity, or use of an SCP resource, does not guarantee:

employment or promotion;
admission to education or professional accreditation;
visa or immigration approval;
funding or investment;
a placement, contract or partnership; or
any other particular outcome.

External links are provided for information or convenience. A link does not by itself mean that SCP endorses, controls or accepts responsibility for the external website or its content.

Intellectual Property

Public access to SCP material does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted rights of reuse.

Unless otherwise stated, frameworks, models, written materials, diagrams, tools, software, branding and governance materials made available through SCP are owned by, or licensed to, SamSoyombo Career Pathways Ltd.

Public access does not grant permission for unauthorised copying, redistribution, rebranding, commercial exploitation or use of SCP material to train another artificial-intelligence system.

Separate licence, confidentiality, intellectual-property or collaboration terms may apply to commissioned work, pilots, research activities, partners and contributors.

Liability and Right to Decline

Free public resources are provided for general information, education and reflection.

To the extent permitted by law, SCP is not responsible for loss resulting from decisions made solely in reliance on free public resources where SCP has not assumed a specific contractual or professional duty.

Paid, commissioned, licensed or partnership activity is governed by the written terms applying to that particular engagement.

Nothing on this page excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any applicable statutory consumer rights.

SCP may decline, pause, restrict or end an enquiry, programme or engagement where:

it falls outside our competence, scope or operating boundaries;
there is a safeguarding, ethical or legal concern;
an actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest cannot be appropriately managed;
material information has been misrepresented;
confidentiality, data or intellectual property is at risk; or
continuing would otherwise be inappropriate or unlawful.

Enquiries, Changes and Governing Law

An enquiry does not create an entitlement to an SCP service.

Individuals and organisations may contact SCP with questions, partnership proposals or service enquiries.

Receiving an enquiry does not mean that SCP will accept the proposed activity, that the activity falls within our current operating scope, or that a contractual relationship has been created.

We may update this page when our services, projects, legal requirements or operating circumstances change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current published version.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, this website disclaimer is governed by Scots law. Separate written agreements for paid, commissioned or licensed services may contain their own applicable terms and governing-law provisions.
