What you Need to Know

This guide will help you understand the apprenticeship application process and how to find the right opportunity for you.

Step 1: Applying Online

Most apprenticeship applications start online. After you apply, you might be invited to take an aptitude test. This test helps employers see if you have the skills and knowledge needed for the apprenticeship program. There are even practice tests available online to help you prepare!

Step 2: Finding an Employer

Some organisations will connect you with potential employers who offer apprenticeships. Others might suggest companies you can contact on your own. In this case, you’ll need to do some research and reach out to employers yourself.

Step 3: Meeting the Requirements

Many apprenticeships require good grades in certain subjects, like English, Math, Science, or Technical subjects. Make sure you check the specific requirements for the programs you’re interested in.

Step 4: Start Early!

Apprenticeship programs often start recruiting as early as January. Don’t wait until the last minute! Begin your job search early to increase your chances of landing the perfect opportunity.

Step 5: Find More Opportunities

This guide doesn’t list every apprenticeship available. Many other resources are available to help you find the right program. Check local newspapers, websites like Facebook, and recruitment sites.

Remember, some research is required on your part!
